The Holidays Are Over
Looks like we all survived the holidays in one piece. Now all we have to do is get through the New Year. Which will be a little harder since I went back to work as of today. For how long I don't know. But I am sure they will keep me guessing the whole time.....at least its close to home.
Well in the Ava news she has enjoyed her second Christmas. I think we could have saved a little money since at this age her attention span is that of a ferret and can't open presents really well. I guess that will all change by next year.
Some of the cool gifts she got was some die cast metal airplanes (she LOVES airplanes), a helicopter, mega forts, little motorized cart, and the one that is for me as much as her are model rockets. Hey for 20 bucks you can't go wrong.
There are a couple other things we got her but I can't remember at the moment. She also got a butt load of cute clothes from the grandparents and ANT Julie. They are always so great to her.
MERRY CHRISTMAS

To Well another year is coming to a real quick close. Ava is really digging the whole holiday season. Grandpa has decorated their house with Santa's all over the place. So now Ava just runs around saying "Santa, Santa, Santa". It really is pretty cute.
Well living by one of the busiest airports in the world. Not to mention that the weather here is usually pretty nice when most other places are kind of crappy. It was fitting for Santa to come by helicopter. He landed in front of the new Fire Station and hopped onto a waiting fire truck for a short ride to the Christmas Festival. Ava got to see 3 of her favorite things. Santa, Helicopters and fire trucks. It was a good day for Ava !
MAs usual grandpa went all out with the Christmas decorations. I can't believe that I did not get a picture of Santa's sleigh and animated reindeer ! I will have to update the site with that picture. But anyway here is Ava with grandpa showing all his hard work off.
The next picture is Ava in the nice little Christmas outfit that Grandma Nuss got her. She makes everything look good !
Now that work has slowed down I am getting to spend a lot of time with Ava. But not too much cause that would be cutting into Grandma & Grandpa's time. I almost have to fight them for her ! Hopefully I will get back to work sometime after the first of the year. Till then I will just enjoy the days I get with this beautiful little girl !
So what do we do with all the time. Well let me show you.
Here we are at Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach. They have a great toddler playground and as you can see they have a bunch of ducks that live in the big pond that they have there. There are also a couple other birds out there but I am not really sure what they are so I figure I will just tell her that they are ducks. At her age she won't tell me that I am full of it. But I will have to do a little research on what they are.
As you can see below we decided to go one day to the LAX Flight Path Museum. As you could have guessed they have a REAL airplane you can walk through. The people there were really nice and bent over backwards to show us around and answer any questions we may have had.

Well Ava really turned out to be a PERFECT little traveler. We go watch the airplanes just about everyday and she got to take her first airplane ride to see Kathleen, Andy and Larsen in Seattle Washington. We had a really great time up there and they showed us around town and we had a great time visiting with them.
If I were to move anywhere in the country I think it would be up to that part of the country. It seems like Washington is a really good mix of city living while being connected to nature. I like the fact you can be in the city and be in a lush forest in a matter of minutes. I am not saying we are going anywhere soon but it would not surprise me if we ended up there.
Well lets get to the pictures !

Ava seems to have been really busy with summer coming to a close. In the last couple weeks we have been to car shows, museums, parks, doctors, and best of all Disneyland. First things first is we got Grandpa a season pass to Disneyland so he can go with Ava on Its A Small World and share a Mickey Ice Cream bar. This can really be one of those commercials that do the whole "Parking......10 Dollars, Season Pass to Disneyland...119 dollars Ice Cream.........3.50 This picture.......PRICELESS !
So I think Grandpa really had a great time. It was a bit on the hot side but since we went later in the day it was not too bad. We did the whole Small World, Monsters Inc and ran around in the water at California Adventures.
Well among other things Ava went to the El Segundo car show to see Grandpa Nuss's Hot Rod. That thing sounds really mean and possibly the scariest riding thing even at low speeds. The rumble of the engine makes it seem like its going 100 MPH when your standing still.
